Design Principles :
  • Affordance, is relation between the properties of an object and the capabilities of agent that determine just how the object could possibly be used.
  • tiket.com search buttontraveloka search button
Both of are similar using orange as color of button, but Traveloka put icon to make user common with the button.
    2. Signifiers, communicate where action takes place. Signifiers signal things, in particular what actions are possible and how they should be done.

Both apps use icon to sign the menu, in Ticket.com use animated icon and we thougth it took user attention more than Traveloka icon menu.
    3. Mapping, relation between two things. The control and the effect.
    tiket.com mappingtraveloka mapping
Mapping for both menu are different, Tiket.com design the menu side by side and traveloka show the menu from top to bottom. Both of are clearly design the menu, when user click the icon the function of each menu will show. Unfortunately, user can’t customize the view of menu as customer needs.
    4. Feedback, communication between result and action
Both application are similar in showing the action when user choose menu. After choosing menu the field that should fullfill are clearly showed.

Sign “<” and “>” used in both application. Tiket.com showing the sign bigger than Traveloka and put the sign beside the advertising, than Traveloka put the sign in bottom of advertising. The function of sign are to lead user to swipe the advertising promo, then it will guide user to see complete apps when advertising choosen.
    6. Constraints, restricting the kind of interactions that can take place, reduce the chance of error and can also work to focus user’s attention to needed task.

Both apps design the important button with throwing orange as the color, that take more attention of user to click.
